Duterte expected to sign EO for COVID-19 test price cap

President Rodrigo Duterte is expected to sign an executive order imposing a price cap on COVID-19 tests after it undergoes review by the Office of the Executive Secretary and the Department of Health (DOH).

Spokesperson Harry Roque expressed optimism that the President will approve the order, noting that high testing costs could hinder the government's test, trace, and treat campaign.

The DOH had previously submitted a recommendation to implement a price cap due to significant variations in testing costs across laboratories.
