Ombudsman dismisses Bamban Mayor Guo for misconduct

The Office of the Ombudsman has ordered the dismissal of Bamban Mayor Alice Guo for grave misconduct and forfeiture of all retirement benefits.

Guo's legal counsel Stephen David announced plans to file a motion for reconsideration with the Office of the Ombudsman, citing that they are preparing an appeal with the Court of Appeals.

Erano Timbang, a councilor, has been appointed as acting mayor of Bamban town in Tarlac following Guo's expulsion and the suspension of Vice Mayor Leonardo Anunciacion for three months.

Solicitor General Menardo Guevarra stated that the quo warranto petition against Guo will proceed despite her dismissal, preventing her from seeking another public office in the future.

The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) filed a tax evasion complaint against Guo and two others following an admission by Guo that she transferred shares to Jack Uy without filing required taxes.
