NU secures men's volleyball finals spot by sweeping UST

National University secured its spot in the finals of UAAP Season 87 men's volleyball by defeating University of Santo Tomas with a 25-23, 25-23, 25-23 sweep on Wednesday.

The Bulldogs advanced to their tenth consecutive finals appearance and will face Far Eastern University in a championship series starting Sunday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Leo Ordiales led NU with 20 points from 19 attacks, while Jade Disquitado contributed 14 points and 11 excellent receptions; Buds Buddin also made a comeback after an injury with seven markers in two sets.

Greg Ancheta provided all of NU's excellent sets, helping the team secure their ticket to the championship series against FEU on Sunday, May 11.

UST had moments where they pushed for victory but ultimately fell short, with Josh Ybañez and Gboy De Vega scoring 14 and 12 points respectively.
