National U sweeps De La Salle, advances to V-League semis

National University secured a four-set victory over Colegio de San Juan de Letran in the 2024 V-League Men's Collegiate Challenge on Wednesday at Paco Arena.

The Bulldogs improved their record to 5-2 with a decisive sweep against defending champion De La Salle University, winning by scores of 25-23, 25-22, and 25-23 on Friday night.

Despite finishing fourth in the preliminary phase, National U will face Far Eastern University in the semifinals, while De La Salle and University of Santo Tomas clash in a rematch of last year's finals.

Assistant coach Jessie Lopez praised the team's second six for their performance against La Salle, noting it as a morale booster heading into the semis.

Leo Aringo led National University with 20 points in their initial victory over Letran and contributed crucially to securing the sweep against De La Salle.
