NorthPort sweeps San Miguel, completes rare sweep

NorthPort secured a narrow 105-104 victory over San Miguel in the PBA Season 49 Commissioner's Cup on Tuesday at the Ynares Center, completing their sweep of all three San Miguel Corporation-owned teams in a single conference.

With this win, NorthPort achieved its first-ever sweep of Barangay Ginebra, Magnolia Hotshots, and San Miguel, ending a two-game losing streak and improving their record to an 8-3 tie with Converge.

Arvin Tolentino emphasized the importance of team unity and trust for their success, stating it was a great feeling for the franchise as they proved naysayers wrong.

NorthPort initially led by 24 points but San Miguel's bench players turned things around with a late surge in the third quarter, making the game closer than expected.

Kadeem Jack scored 38 points to lead NorthPort, while Arvin Tolentino added 22 points and eight rebounds along with four assists, two steals, and a block.
