Davao City leads Southern Mindanao in COVID-19 deaths

Davao City accounted for 67% of the 1,160 COVID-19 deaths recorded in Southern Mindanao since last year.

As of Sunday, June 6, Davao City had 779 documented COVID-19-related deaths, far exceeding Davao del Norte's second-highest number of 182 deaths.

Davao Region also accounted for one-third of Mindanao’s total COVID-19 cases that surpassed 100,000 in the first week of June.

From June 1 to 7, Davao City logged an average of 213 new cases daily, surpassing Quezon City's 207 cases.

Northern Mindanao and Davao had the highest number of new COVID-19 infections as of Friday, June 4, while BARMM recorded the least.
