CSC Chair Karlo Nograles resigns to run for office in Davao

Civil Service Commission (CSC) Chairperson Karlo Nograles resigned on Monday to seek public office in his hometown of Davao City.

In a letter dated October 7, 2024, addressed to President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., Nograles thanked colleagues for their support and expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve as chairperson for two years.

Senior Commissioner Atty. Aileen Lizada will serve as the acting chairman of the CSC following Nograles' departure.

Under Nograles' leadership, the CSC implemented direct public engagement programs, improved eligibility exams, recognized outstanding civil servants, and pushed for modernization and digitalization during his term.

Nograles expressed that returning to Davao City was a privilege and an honor, where he plans to apply the lessons learned from his tenure as head of the Commission.
