Solon proposes postponing school reopening until COVID-19 vaccine

Deputy Speaker Aurelio Gonzales Jr. proposed postponing the reopening of schools, scheduled for August 24, until a COVID-19 vaccine is available.

Gonzales cited concerns over social distancing in classrooms with up to 80 students and the potential for asymptomatic teachers spreading the virus.

The resolution seeks to express the House's sense that classes should not resume unless a vaccine has been developed and included in the national drug formulary.
