NegOr Gov assures Roque of trust in national vaccines

Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo assured Palace spokesperson Harry Roque on Thursday that the provincial government trusts the vaccines procured by the national government for its COVID-19 vaccination campaign.

Roque was in Negros Oriental to update the public on the national vaccine rollout, and mentioned that 600,000 doses of Sinovac donated by China will arrive on February 28.

Health authorities in Negros Oriental are preparing an information drive to boost public acceptance of vaccines as part of the upcoming inoculation campaign.

Assistant Provincial Health Officer Dr. Liland Estacion said they are awaiting DOH materials for distribution and emphasized the need to convince local government units and residents about vaccine safety and necessity.

Negros Oriental requires 4,254 people to form 709 teams for the vaccination program, with each team consisting of six members including a doctor supervisor.

The health officer noted that these teams will receive training on vaccine administration and expects around 100 individuals to be vaccinated per day.
