Marcos Jr. OKs civil service modernization

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has approved the Philippine Civil Service Modernization (PCSM) project during a recent NEDA Board meeting to enhance efficiency in government human resource management.

The project, spearheaded by the Civil Service Commission, aims to streamline and simplify HR information systems across various government agencies.

Initially, 39 pilot government agencies will implement the PCSM project in 2025, with plans to expand its implementation to 1,187 government agencies within a decade.

NEDA Secretary Arsenio Balisacan emphasized that the modernization of public sector processes will improve efficiency and optimize service delivery for nearly two million public servants.

The PCSM project seeks to automate and digitalize HR processes, leading to better coordination, faster response times, more accurate payroll processing, and streamlined recruitment and onboarding.
