Eastern Visayas reports over 10K COVID-19 cases

As of Saturday, December 19, Eastern Visayas reported a total of 10,002 confirmed COVID-19 cases with 103 new infections recorded that day.

The Department of Health (DOH) noted that 92.3 percent or 9,232 patients have recovered from the illness.

On Wednesday, December 16, a total of 8,943 patients had already recovered, representing 91.71 percent of confirmed cases since March.

The DOH attributed the high recovery rate to the majority of patients being asymptomatic or having mild symptoms, managed in local community isolation units.
