Manila police bust fake PWD ID racket, arrest six suspects

Six individuals were arrested for manufacturing and distributing fake persons with disabilities identification cards (PWD IDs) in separate operations conducted by Manila police and the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO).

Three suspects, identified as 'Dogdog,' 'Tess,' and 'MJ,' were apprehended along Quezon Boulevard in Santa Cruz, Manila.

The Metro Manila Regional Special Operations Group arrested three more individuals—'Aileen,' 'Jonathan,' and 'John'—during an entrapment operation in Quiapo, Manila.

Police recovered a computer set, printers, seals, and other materials used to create fake documents during the raids.

The suspects face charges of falsification of public documents and manufacturing and possession of instruments for falsification.

Restaurant Owners of the Philippines had previously expressed concern over the abuse of fake PWD IDs, warning that it undermines support for those genuinely in need.
