NBA Legends Cup reunites former players, honors mentors

The AcroCity-backed Negros Basketball Association (NBA) Legends Cup was a nostalgic success on February 22, featuring former stars of the league who wowed their fans and renewed kinship with teammates and rivals.

Former players Django Rivera, Victor Villarias, and Kenneth Duremdes led Team Azcona-Sapporo to a come-from-behind victory over AcroCity with a final score of 90-75.

The event honored the late Dodong Bascon and other mentors who helped these legends make it big in UAAP, NCAA, and PBA, while also celebrating their contributions to community goodwill.

Corporate affairs head Nats Francisco praised the players for spreading goodwill to their communities through such events.

General manager Mike Chua expressed hope that similar reunion games would be held in cities like Cebu and Davao.

Notable absentees were Rudy Distrito who supported without playing, while some past stars from abroad like Mustre and Rivera also participated in organizing the event.
