Missing Mutya ng Pilipinas candidate and her boyfriend found dead

Mutya ng Pilipinas Pampanga candidate Geneva Sarita Lopez and her Israeli boyfriend Yitshak Cohen have been missing since Friday, June 21.

CCTV footage shows the couple leaving their residence in Angeles City on June 21 between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m., after which they became unreachable through social media and personal mobile phones starting from 3 pm.

On June 22, authorities discovered an abandoned vehicle near Capas, Tarlac, where Lopez and Cohen were reportedly meeting someone regarding a parcel of land; the fire test on the vehicle came back negative for flammable substances.

As of July 6, two bodies believed to be those of Lopez and Cohen were unearthed in a vacant lot in Brgy. Sta. Lucia, Capas, Tarlac; NBI confirmed that evening that the remains are indeed theirs, with each having suffered gunshot wounds.

CCTV footage is being analyzed by authorities to backtrack their movements before the abandoned vehicle was found burning along a road in Capas, where burnt remains of Lopez's belongings were also discovered inside the charred wreck.
