MP Tollways, San Miguel waive tolls for EDSA rehab

Business tycoon Manuel V. Pangilinan and San Miguel Corp., led by Ramon Ang, have agreed to waive toll fees on Skyway Stage 3 and the NLEX Connector for the entire duration of the EDSA rehabilitation project.

Metro Pacific Tollways Corp., under President Jose Ma. Lim, is now in discussion with the Department of Transportation to implement a toll holiday at the eight-kilometer NLEX Connector.

Transportation Secretary Vivencio Dizon announced that San Miguel Corp. will waive tolls on select areas of Skyway Stage 3 starting June 13 alongside an odd-even number coding scheme for EDSA from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.

The EDSA rehabilitation project, expected to last until 2027, aims to strengthen the road's infrastructure while providing alternative routes like Skyway and NLEX Connector to ease traffic congestion.

To further mitigate traffic during this period, additional buses will be deployed along the EDSA Busway and car train sets on MRT3, with 'Mabuhay Lanes' recommended as alternate routes.
