DBM cuts P3B from DND budget for COVID-19

The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) made additional cuts to the 2020 budgets for infrastructure and national defense in May, reallocating funds for the government's COVID-19 response.

Another P3 billion was cut from the DND’s budget, bringing it down to P182 billion. In April, the DND’s budget had already been reduced by P6.7 billion, making a cumulative reduction of P9.7 billion since the start of the year.

The DPWH also faced another P1-billion budget cut in May, reducing its total cuts to P122.9 billion and leaving it with P457.9 billion out of its original P580.9-billion budget for 2020.
