MinDA boosts rice production to avoid shortage

MinDA is working with farmers in Mindanao to adopt ratooning methods to boost rice production amid concerns over potential shortages due to reduced exports from Vietnam.

North Cotabato, a major rice-producing province, will launch the 'Quick Turn-Around Plan' next week to produce additional rice before the lean months starting July.

The plan aims to prevent a shortfall in rice supply during the lean season and is supported by the Department of Agriculture and National Irrigation Administration.
