Meralco beats NLEX 105-91 in PBA Commissioner's Cup

Meralco defeated NLEX with a score of 105-91 in the PBA Commissioner's Cup on Friday at Ninoy Aquino Stadium.

The Bolts bounced back from their previous loss to TNT and improved to 5-3, tying them with Barangay Ginebra San Miguel in the team standings, while NLEX fell to its fourth straight loss and dropped to 3-5.

Meralco head coach Luigi Trillo noted that his team struggled with slow starts in recent games but managed to find their rhythm against NLEX, citing the advantage of playing their third game in a short period compared to NLEX's extended break.

Akil Mitchell led Meralco's scoring efforts with 24 points, 12 rebounds, six assists, and four steals, while Bong Quinto contributed 10 points and six assists.

Mike Watkins of NLEX had a standout performance with 38 points and 21 rebounds but it was not enough to secure the win for his team.
