MBC urges Senate to convene impeachment court for VP Sara Duterte

MBC warned that failing to act could erode public trust in Philippine institutions, undermining due process and investor confidence.

Senate President Francis 'Chiz' Escudero has been criticized by legal experts and critics of Duterte for delaying the impeachment proceedings against her.

The group noted that an impeachment trial would provide a proper legal channel for both the public and Vice President Duterte to address the allegations and present evidence.

If the Senate does not proceed with the impeachment trial, MBC cautioned it risks denying Duterte the opportunity to defend herself and betraying public trust.
