Mayor Belmonte secures third term, expands social services

Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte secured her third consecutive term in office after receiving the highest number of votes in the May 12 midterm elections.

Belmonte plans to strengthen social services by doubling city-funded scholarships, raising pensions for vulnerable groups, and expanding access to free medical care through PhilHealth's Konsulta Package.

Infrastructure projects include the redevelopment of Quezon Memorial Circle and Amoranto Sports Complex, construction of the Novaliches Government Center with various facilities, and upgrading health centers across all districts.

Additional initiatives involve providing free cremation services for indigent families at the Baesa Crematorium and Columbarium, as well as addressing urban housing needs through direct sale housing programs and forfeited property awards.

Belmonte aims to leave behind a Quezon City that is more empowered, resilient, and compassionate by building more parks and open spaces for public use.
