Marikina classes suspended until Dec 16

Classes in Marikina City may resume in January 2021 after Typhoon Ulysses caused severe damage, Mayor Marcelino Teodoro said.

The month-long suspension of classes began on November 16 and will continue until December 16 to allow for rehabilitation efforts.

More than 50,000 families have been displaced, with many areas still flooded or covered in mud, making roads impassable.

Teodoro stated that the city needs time to reproduce learning modules damaged by floodwaters and ensure a proper environment for distance learning.
