Marcos’s trust and perf ratings hit lowest since early 2024; Sara’s rise

President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr.'s trust and performance ratings have dropped to their lowest levels since early 2024 in OCTA's latest Tugon ng Masa (TNM) survey released on Tuesday.

Marcos’s trust rating fell five points to 60%, marking the lowest level since January 2024, while his performance rating decreased from 64% to 59%. Despite this decline, most Filipinos still express trust in Marcos's leadership.

Vice President Sara Duterte-Carpio saw a nine-point increase in her trust rating to 58%, reversing the downward trend observed since December 2023, while her performance rating rose by eight points to 56%.

The sudden arrest of former President Rodrigo Duterte, Sara’s father, appears to have positively impacted her ratings and public sentiment towards her.

OCTA Research founder Prof. Ranjit Rye attributes the president's downward trend since July 2024 to urgent public concerns such as inflation, access to jobs, and affordable food availability.
