Marcos vows personal oversight of typhoon recovery in Batangas

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. vowed on Monday to personally oversee recovery efforts in areas affected by recent typhoons, starting with a visit to Batangas, one of the hardest-hit regions by Severe Tropical Storm Kristine.

During his visit, Marcos distributed PHP109.78 million in aid and emphasized that he will continue visiting affected areas to ensure the delivery and inspection of recovery efforts personally.

The President also announced plans to simplify the process of releasing funds to local government units during disasters.

In Laurel, Batangas, Marcos turned over a total of PHP60 million in assistance from the Office of the President to six municipalities and provided PHP10,000 each to selected fisherfolk and farmers.
