Marcos raises AFP daily allowance from P150 to P350

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has increased the daily subsistence allowance for Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) personnel from P150 to P350, effective retroactively starting January 1, 2025.

Executive Order No. 84, signed by President Marcos on March 14 and released publicly this week, mandates this increase which covers all types of AFP personnel including trainees and reservists.

AFP spokesperson Colonel Francel Margareth Padilla emphasized that the adjustment was part of long-discussed plans and had nothing to do with recent political events or support from the government for military actions.

The adjustment aims to improve soldiers' welfare and recognize their sacrifices in defending the country's sovereignty, as cited in EO 84.

Providing adequate support to military personnel has always been a priority of the AFP, emphasizing its importance in ensuring national security and resilience.
