Marcos says Filipinos tired of politics, disappointed with services

President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. stated on Monday that the Filipino people are tired of politics and disappointed with government services following the Eleksyon 2025 midterm elections.

Marcos emphasized in a podcast with broadcaster Anthony Taberna that elected officials should focus on their duties to serve the public's welfare, acknowledging shortcomings in addressing everyday issues like traffic and long queues in public transport.

He noted that the public feels let down by slow progress and lack of tangible results from government projects, urging the administration to balance long-term programs with fast, practical solutions that improve daily life.

Of the 12 newly elected senators, six were endorsed by Marcos under his political alliance, Alyansa Para Sa Bagong Pilipinas.

The president expressed disappointment over the election results over the weekend, wishing for better outcomes and admitting the administration had concentrated on large, long-term infrastructure projects in key sectors like health, tourism, and transport.

Marcos urged officials to stop campaigning and start working on necessary initiatives for public benefit.
