Marcos pledges to protect workers' rights on Labor Day

President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. marked Labor Day by recognizing the critical role of Filipino workers in nation-building and pledged to protect their rights and welfare.

In his message, he assured workers that the government is an active partner dedicated to supporting their growth and prosperity, emphasizing concrete steps such as job fairs and free skills training programs to address their needs and ensure workplace safety.

Marcos highlighted the spirit of service among workers, noting their daily efforts contribute to the greater good of society and shape the country's development.

He stressed that policies should reflect a commitment to uplifting workers' dignity and ensuring they are not abandoned by the government, promising continuity in projects promoting growth and prosperity for all Filipino workers.

The president attended the 123rd Labor Day celebration at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City, where around 12,000 job opportunities were offered across various sectors including business process outsourcing, construction, tourism, and more.
