Marcos postpones Ilocos Norte trip due to weather

Heavy rains and strong winds disrupted President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr.'s schedule, forcing him to postpone his trip to Ilocos Norte on Thursday.

The inauguration and turnover of the Rice Processing System II at the Piddig Basi Multipurpose Cooperative were postponed due to poor weather conditions that caused blown tents and zero visibility for flights.

Brigadier General Nelson Morales of the Presidential Security Command reported that the aircraft carrying the President attempted takeoff but was unable to do so due to inclement weather.

In addition, bad weather also led to the cancellation of Marcos' trip to Romblon for distributing assistance to farmers and fisherfolk affected by El Niño.

On Friday, July 19, Marcos will visit the Sulvec Small Reservoir Irrigation Project in Pasuquin Municipality.
