Marcos: PH gov't closely monitoring Omicron subvariant XBB.1.5

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. stated on Friday that the government is closely monitoring emerging COVID-19 variants, including the Omicron subvariant XBB.1.5.

Marcos assured the public that health authorities are managing the situation and emphasized that hospitals have not reached a critical occupancy level.

The president noted that while new variants like XBB.1.5 are spreading in other countries, the Philippines is still in the same status as before and remains vigilant.
