Marcos urges compassion, unity on Eid'l Fitr

President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. marked Eid'l Fitr on Monday by urging Filipinos to live with compassion and unity.

In his message, Marcos emphasized that beyond religious significance, Eid'l Fitr is a time for extending hands to those in need and spreading joy within communities through acts of kindness and empathy, reflecting the values practiced during Ramadan.

He highlighted the importance of continuing these values and encouraged Filipinos to embody dedication and faith towards fostering a more equitable and peaceful nation as part of his administration's development agenda.

Senate President Chiz Escudero also extended greetings, noting that Eid'l Fitr serves as an inspiration for reconciliation and understanding among Filipinos amid political divisions.

House Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez acknowledged Muslim communities' 'vital role' in fostering economic growth, cultural richness, and national unity while reaffirming the House's commitment to policies promoting equality and opportunity for all.
