Marcos Jr. orders no security lapse during Holy Week

President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. instructed law enforcement agencies not to relax security measures during this year's Holy Week.

Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Atty. Claire Castro conveyed the President's directive that authorities should remain vigilant and ensure public safety throughout the holiday period, emphasizing that despite many people taking vacations, government services must continue without interruption.

Castro added that monitoring efforts will be intensified by the Department of Transportation (DOTr) to ensure the safety and convenience of all passengers as they travel to their hometowns during Holy Week.

The Philippine International Terminal Exchange (PITX) expects over two million passengers during Holy Week, with preparations starting April 9th to accommodate the influx of travelers.

To further ensure smooth operations, strict inspections will be conducted in terminals, ports, and airports to prevent delays prior to the holiday exodus.

Metro Rail Transit Line 3 and Light Rail Transit lines will suspend operations from Maundy Thursday to Black Saturday for maintenance activities.
