Marcos celebrates Imelda's 95th birthday at Malacañang

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. celebrated his mother, former First Lady Imelda Romualdez Marcos, on her 95th birthday with a family gathering at Malacañang Palace, posting photos of the event on social media.

First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos also greeted her 'Mama Meldy' with a personal message on social media, sharing photos from a quiet celebration with family and friends.

In his post, President Marcos thanked his mother for teaching him to be gracious, kind, and compassionate, and extended this guidance to his children as well.

The former First Lady was hospitalized in March for mild pneumonia but has since recovered and continues to remain an influential figure within the Marcos family and Filipino politics.

Senator Imee Marcos, who is a self-proclaimed ally of Vice President Sara Duterte, attended the birthday celebration despite recent tensions between the Marcos and Duterte families.

Imelda Marcos, born on July 2, 1929, served as First Lady for over two decades during her husband Ferdinand Marcos Sr.'s rule from 1965 until his ouster in the 1986 People Power Revolution.
