Marcos expands review to undersecretaries

President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. stated that his administration's performance review has expanded to undersecretaries across all government agencies following an initial evaluation of Cabinet members.

Marcos clarified in an interview on Tuesday that the ongoing review process does not constitute a full-scale Cabinet revamp but rather an assessment aimed at ensuring government agencies meet their mandates and improve their performance.

The president noted that while most Cabinet secretaries retained their positions, he accepted the resignations of Solicitor General Menardo Guevarra, CHED Chairperson Popoy de Vera, and others, replacing them with new appointees.

Marcos emphasized that officials from undersecretary level down are now on probation as part of this continuing review process, with more changes expected in key positions moving forward.

He added that his administration will conduct quarterly performance reviews across all government departments, evaluating whether officials meet specific targets to ensure better governance.
