Marcos distributes PHP150M aid for Typhoon Marce recovery

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. assured residents in Cagayan and Ilocos Norte on Sunday that national government assistance will continue until recovery from Typhoon Marce is complete, distributing over PHP150 million in financial aid to affected municipalities.

During his visit to Buguey, Cagayan, Marcos announced PHP10 million cash assistance each for eight municipalities affected by Typhoon Marce, with additional support from various government departments like DSWD, DOLE, and DA.

In Ilocos Norte, the President extended PHP50 million in financial assistance during his visit to Pagudpud Cultural and Sports Complex, distributing food packs and rice seeds for 9,340 affected individuals.

Under the TUPAD program by the Department of Labor and Employment, an additional P20 million was distributed to Marce-affected towns, benefiting a total of 165 beneficiaries across multiple municipalities.

Typhoon Marce has reportedly affected 261,787 people or 76,622 families across Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley, and Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), with one reported death due to the storm's impact.
