Marcos distributes aid to El Niño-affected residents in Tawi-Tawi

President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. distributed assistance to farmers, fisherfolk, and families affected by the El Niño phenomenon in Tawi-Tawi province on Thursday.

Marcos emphasized his goal of personally assessing whether government aid is reaching those in need and addressing their challenges due to drought.

He also stated that he aims to understand residents' situations and find appropriate solutions to their problems.

The President assured that his administration is taking all necessary measures to alleviate the impact of El Niño on farmers and fisherfolk.

Marcos highlighted plans for more government projects in Tawi-Tawi to maintain peace in Mindanao, with support from local authorities and the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region.

Cash assistance was given to 10 selected beneficiaries, along with P10 million each to the provincial governments of Tawi-Tawi and Basilan.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development provided P10,000 each to 10,000 beneficiaries, while rice was distributed by Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez.
