Marcos aims for less than 4-month cleanup for Mindoro oil spill

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. said on Wednesday that the government aims to clean up the 800,000-liter oil spill from a tanker that sank off Oriental Mindoro's coast in less than four months.

Marcos compared this incident to the 2006 Guimaras oil spill cleanup which took four months and noted that since the volume of spilled oil is smaller, the cleanup could be faster.

The president expressed hope for a quicker resolution, emphasizing that while it may not be completed in one month, it should not take as long as four months.
