Mapua's Escamis prioritizes team title over MVP

Mapua University's Clint Escamis prioritizes winning the NCAA Season 100 men's basketball championship over individual accolades like the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award.

Despite scoring 30 points in Game 1 against College of St. Benilde, Escamis remains focused on securing a title for Mapua and celebrated with his teammates after clinching the historic victory.

Escamis emphasized that winning the championship brings happiness to an entire community more than individual awards, noting he set aside personal achievements this year.

Following his outstanding performance in Game 1, Escamis earned Finals MVP honors but is now facing uncertainty about whether he will return for NCAA Season 101.

Mapua coach Randy Alcantara remains optimistic about the team's future despite potential changes to the roster and highlighted the progress of players like Chris Hubilla, Laurence Mangubat, JC Recto, and Cyrus Cuenco.
