Palace urges Magalong to submit flood project docs

Malacañang urged Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong on Thursday to submit information about alleged anomalous flood control projects directly to President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr.

Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong said Friday he will forward documents on the alleged corruption in flood control projects to President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr., as per Palace's request.

A member of the soon-to-be-formed House of Representatives tri-committee that will investigate these projects plans to invite Magalong to provide testimony under oath about supposed kickbacks given to lawmakers from infrastructure projects.

Magalong has accused some lawmakers of receiving kickbacks ranging from 30% to 40% of project budgets, and Rep. Terry Ridon said the committee will require him to disclose specific names and documents.

The tri-committee expects to be formed in the next few weeks and will investigate whether there is a conflict of interest or cover-up involving any lawmakers named during the hearings.
