Palace expects early 2021 budget passage, pledges review

Malacañang welcomed the early passage of the P4.5-trillion proposed national budget for 2021, expressing hope that Congress will submit it within the week.

Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque stated that President Duterte would review and veto any questionable allocations to ensure careful spending.

Roque emphasized that a timely submission is crucial to avoid a reenacted budget scenario which could hinder the government's COVID-19 response efforts.
