Makabayan Coalition protests VP Sara Duterte's impeachment

Members of the Makabayan Coalition held a protest on Monday outside the House of Representatives, calling for the impeachment of Vice President Sara Duterte.

Over 50 protesters gathered with placards demanding 'Impeach Sara Duterte' and 'Stop the show, jail Sara'.

The House Committee on Good Government and Public Accountability is holding its seventh hearing on alleged misuse of funds from the Office of the Vice President and the Department of Education under Duterte's leadership.

Independent political analyst Atty. Michael Yusingco suggested in a Teleradyo Serbisyo interview that Duterte should be formally investigated by the Ombudsman for her use of confidential funds.

Malacañang labeled Duterte's statement as an 'active threat', while several lawmakers dismissed it as a desperate attempt to evade accountability for the misuse of P612.5 million in confidential funds.
