478 Metro Manila rail personnel test positive for COVID-19

As of Tuesday, April 6, a total of 478 railway personnel in Metro Manila have tested positive for COVID-19.

DOTr Secretary Arthur Tugade ordered mass testing based on risk to ensure safety and prevent further spread among rail workers.

In LRT-1, 94 out of 281 tested personnel are infected; in LRT-2, 143 out of 592; in MRT-3, 120 out of 709; and in PNR, 121 out of 586.

Railway systems are operating at limited capacity as workers undergo testing. MRT-3 will dispatch only 10 to 12 trains with a limited passenger capacity per train set.
