Macapaz appointed new CIDG chief; Cansilao heads Anti-Kidnapping Group

BGen. Romeo Macapaz has been appointed as the new chief of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) effective June 19.

Macapaz previously served as the police regional director in Bangsamoro and takes over from Police Major General Nicolas Torre III, who is now PNP chief.

Brig. Gen. Glicerio Cansilao will lead the Anti-Kidnapping Group following Col. David Poklay's reassignment to the Intelligence Group.

Four new regional directors were also appointed, including BGen. Jack Wanky as Calabarzon police chief and Brig. Gen. Ponce Rogelio Peñones in Western Visayas.

Brig. Gen. Rolindo Suguilon was designated as top cop in Northern Mindanao, while Brig. Gen. Joseph Arguelles leads the Davao Region police.

In Metro Manila, Brig. Gen. Arnold Abad is now head of the Northern Police District and Brig. Gen. Randy Arceo heads the Southern Police District.
