LTO suspends driver’s license for 90 days for traffic dance

The Land Transportation Office (LTO) suspended for 90 days the driver's license of a rider who performed a dance while stuck in traffic on a public road, an incident that went viral on social media.

Under the direction of DOTr Secretary Vince Dizon, LTO Chief Assistant Secretary Vigor Mendoza II issued a show cause order to the rider, who is also the registered owner of the motorcycle.

The rider was ordered to explain why he should not be penalized for inappropriate behavior while driving and faces a maximum penalty of license revocation.

According to LTO Intelligence and Investigation Division Chief Renante Melitante, the hearing will take place on August 20th, when the rider is required to surrender his driver's license.

Failure to comply with these requirements may result in the case being decided based solely on available evidence without further hearing.
