SUV driver’s license revoked for life after admitting intoxication

The driver of an SUV who went viral for counterflowing on Skyway over the weekend had his license permanently revoked by the Land Transportation Office (LTO) after admitting to being intoxicated during the incident.

Although the driver did not attend his scheduled hearing at the LTO on Tuesday, he later appeared with his lawyer and confessed to LTO chief Vigor Mendoza.

The LTO has formally issued a resolution revoking his license for life and will file a case against him under drunk driving laws.

Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon emphasized that this incident should serve as a lesson to motorists not to violate traffic laws, warning that such actions can have severe consequences.

The driver's claim of making a wrong u-turn and entering an incorrect slot is contradicted by CCTV footage, according to LTO executive director Greg Pua.
