LTFRB mandates PUV sanitization amid coronavirus threat

The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has mandated public utility vehicle (PUV) operators to sanitize their fleets before and after deployment to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

Operators are also required to educate drivers and conductors on symptoms, report any possible infections, and post hotline numbers inside vehicles.

Additionally, LTFRB amended its January 30 memorandum circular to include mandatory sanitization of PUVs and provision of sanitizer dispensers for passengers.
