Philippines demands Chinese ships leave Julian Felipe Reef

The Philippine government is maintaining its stance on Julian Felipe Reef in the West Philippine Sea but has ruled out the use of force.

Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana demanded that 44 Chinese vessels leave the reef, citing good weather conditions as reason for their departure.

Chinese officials have defended the presence of the ships and called Lorenzana's statement 'unprofessional'.

President Duterte supports Lorenzana’s demand while Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque emphasized peaceful resolution.

The DFA strongly denounced the Chinese Embassy's criticism of Lorenzana, reminding them to respect Philippine officials.
