Lagman backs quarantine extension for COVID-19 mass testing

Albay Representative Edcel Lagman supports extending the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) to facilitate effective mass testing for COVID-19.

Lagman urged the Duterte administration to consider conducting mass testing before lifting ECQ measures on April 15, emphasizing that it would be difficult and counterproductive to start mass testing in a dispersed population after the lockdown ends.

He noted that the remaining days until the end of the lockdown are insufficient for adequate mass testing even for selected cases.
