Leni Robredo wins Naga City mayoral race with 91% of votes

Former Vice President Leni Robredo was proclaimed Tuesday as the winner of the Naga City mayoral race by the City Board of Canvassers with over 84,000 votes or nearly 91% of the total votes cast.

Robredo won against three rivals: Leonida Abrazado, Restituto De Quiros, and Luis Ortega, securing a significant lead based on partial and unofficial results as of Monday evening.

Her victory comes after she decided to run for mayor due to issues such as alleged irregularities and illegal gambling activities under the previous administration.

In an interview with GMA Integrated News, Robredo emphasized her commitment to good governance, stating that it should be relentless and nurtured, especially given recent flooding in Naga City.

Robredo plans to prioritize basic services like water, electricity, traffic, flood control, education, health, and environmental initiatives while institutionalizing mechanisms for transparent governance.
