Lacson suspects overpricing in Sinovac vaccine procurement

Senator Panfilo Lacson suspects an attempt to overprice China's Sinovac COVID-19 vaccine and questions the government's procurement process.

Lacson pointed out that while Sinovac costs $5 per dose in Thailand, its price in the Philippines could be as high as $38 or P1,800.

Health Secretary Francisco Duque III earlier stated that the Philippines has secured 25 million doses of Sinovac and 50,000 doses will arrive by February, but COVID-19 response officials noted this is not yet final pending approval from experts and regulators.
