Top PH firms provide aid to employees amid lockdown

Philippines' top firms are providing financial assistance to their employees amid the Luzon-wide lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

SM Investments Corp. assured all its employees will receive regular compensation and emergency financial aid for front liners, security guards, and janitorial staff during the quarantine period from March 16 to April 14.

Jollibee Foods Corporation provided P1 billion in advanced one-month salary and 13th month pay to 90,000 employees affected by the lockdown, boosting morale among workers.

Labor groups praised Jollibee's move and other companies for advancing salaries and providing financial support during the quarantine period.
