Over 9,300 evacuated due to STS Kristine

Over 9,300 residents across Isabela, Apayao, and neighboring areas have been evacuated due to Severe Tropical Storm Kristine as of Thursday, Oct. 24.

Evacuees are staying in schools, barangay halls, churches, and other designated centers with about 1,600 individuals seeking refuge in Ilagan City alone.

In Palanan town, Isabela, at least 491 families (1,766 individuals) have been evacuated to government-designated shelters and temporary accommodations.

Tuguegarao City has also seen evacuations with 51 families or 182 individuals from nine barangays fleeing their homes due to the storm.

In Apayao province, a total of 483 affected families (1,661 individuals) have been served by quick response teams in evacuation centers across the province.

Relief packs are being prepared for distribution in both Palanan and Tuguegarao, while Philippine Army troops have been alerted to assist residents of flood-prone areas in Abra.
